Investors Guaranty Fund, Ltd. was incorporated in 1985 as a Bermuda exempt insurance company. In 1991, Bermuda passed a private Act of Parliament governing operations and the security of IGF’s policyholder reserves. As the first statutory reserve insurer, IGF is the “original transformer company”. Since 1991, the Company has focused on the innovation and development of its core patented financial technologies and their application through a global network of strategic and financial alliances.
Advanced Legal Security Structure – Insurance and investment activities are conducted through IGF and its subsidiary statutory reserve insurers (IGX Insurers):
- Investors Guaranty Insurance, Ltd. – A general lines statutory reserve insurance company;
- Investors Financial Guaranty, Ltd. – A statutory reserve financial guarantor; and
- Investors Guaranty Assurance, Ltd. – A life/annuity and asset investor statutory reserve insurer.
IGF and these statutory reserve insurance subsidiaries are subject to the Investors Guaranty Fund, Ltd. (Policyholder Reserves) Act, 1991, the original segregated reserve legislation and the foundation of segregated portfolio legislation worldwide.
