IGF’s principal activities involve the issuance of highly rated insurance contracts and the transformation of other risks and various forms of assets into risk-linked securities; implementation of its financial technologies; expansion of accredited firms using its patented systems and technologies; creation of strategic client relationships and provision of tailored financial solutions; development of new synergistic technologies; and investment of its capital.
Technology Development – IGF has developed and operates state-of-the-art technologies for transformation of assets, risks, and other forms of financial obligations. Substantial development activities have resulted in a legal infrastructure and electronic systems designed specifically for global transactions which must be highly rated, meet stringent guidelines and comply with security, tax, accounting, and regulatory requirements (STAR issues). For each application and transaction, IGF requires extensive review of all STAR issues.
Electronic Marketplace Capabilities – IGX’s global web-centric systems allow accredited firms and strategic clients on-line access to develop new transaction structures; create investment funds for and insurance capacity from global capital markets; and transform assets and risks into capital market securities. IGX’s collaborative services and electronic reporting systems enhance this twenty first century marketplace.
Transformation – IGF’s patented insurance technology transforms insurance risk assumed through an insurance policy into a debt, equity or residual security acquired by a capital markets investor. The risk is passed through the IGX statutory reserve insurers and mutualised across capital market investors instead of policyholders as in traditional insurance companies. This process utilises insurance brokers and risk underwriters; asset managers and investment bankers; and transaction support professionals traditionally required by capital and insurance market transactions.
Investors Guaranty Insurance, Ltd. (IGI) is the primary insurer through which general insurance risks are transformed into capital market debt, equity, and residual securities. These securities are linked to insurance risks assumed through the issuance of insurance policies by IGI and may be diversified based on any combination of risk exposure, insured, insurance underwriter, asset manager, type of risk, geographic exposure, and length of insurance contract. Third-party insurance underwriters are engaged to establish terms, limits, and premiums for each policy. Capital capacity to support each insurance policy is allocated to the insurance underwriter from one or more asset managers who manage capital raised from issuance of IGI’s Risk-Linked Securities™.
Investors Financial Guaranty, Ltd. (IFG) is a financial guaranty insurer which transforms credit, municipal and corporate bond insurance, financial guarantees, and other forms of financial risks into capital market securities. IFG does not write to a “zero-loss” standard and is able to guaranty exposures of any credit guaranty. All IFG policy obligations are fully secured by cash equivalants and government securities.
Investors Guaranty Assurance, Ltd. (IGA) is a life assurance insurer. IGA utilises IGF’s financial technologies in asset transformation and investment management as well as the issuance of IGF’s patented Adjustable Rate GIA™ product in support of strategic client objectives and IGX insurance and investment activities.
The Adjustable Rate GIA™ is a floating-rate-senior-secured obligation of IGA designed as a highly rated, short duration, financial instrument with an attractive yield spread. The patented design seeks to provide loss mitigation benefits to IGA while benefiting investors with volatility dampening, high credit quality, short duration, and comparatively larger returns. Capital raised from issuing Adjustable Rate GIA™ may be invested in transactions undertaken directly by IGA or risk-linked transactions placed through IGI or IFG in support of a strategic client’s objectives or diversified across a variety of investment strategies.
IGX Insurers investment activities include debt, equity, and other traditional forms of investments; creation of or participation in new investment funds or third-party risk-linked securities transactions; acquisition of operational businesses; real estate, precious metals, and inventory positions; developing or acquiring intellectual property and technology assets; and various proprietary product entities which utilise IGF’s core technologies.
